Ahmad Thomas
Athletic Director
Bay Area Academy has named Ahmad Thomas Director of Athletics, as announced on February 10, 2023. Thomas has over 12 years of experience in education and moves into this role after assuming the same role at Florida Central Tech from 2019 to 2022. “Thomas is an excellent leader who is transparent, forthright, and approachable as he works in collaboration with his coaches and staff. He cares deeply about this academy and leads with enthusiasm and excellence as he fosters a culture of student success as our student-athletes excel in athletic competition and in the classroom. Most importantly, he values our fans and their experiences, and works authentically to build goodwill and deep relationships with the broader Bay Area community.” “There is no higher honor than to mentor and serve in a community where I grew up (Thomas said), and I could not be more excited to lead our outstanding staff, coaches, and student-athletes. The opportunities are endless and I truly believe it is a great time to be a Husky.” Thomas began his career in education with Sanford Brown College in October 2008 as an admission advisor but was quickly promoted to senior advisor after only 6 months at Sanford Brown. Soon after transitioned to the Associate Director of Admissions at Sanford Brown, a role he held until January 2013. Thomas spent time at other universities before landing the role of Athletic Director at Florida Central Tech where he served from 2019-2022
Thomas has earned an associate degree (2004) from Fort Scott CC and a Bachelor of Science degree (2007) from the University of South Florida. A native of Bartow FL, Thomas and his wife, Kay, and their two sons, Aiden and Ahmir, and daughter, Kendall, reside in the Tampa Bay area.

Ryan DeLoach
Director of Basketball Operations and Head Coach
Bay Area Academy has named Ryan DeLoach Director of Basketball Operations, announced on February 10, 2023. Ryan has over 8 years of coaching experience, moving into this role after assuming the director role at previous programs Florida Central Tech & Advance Prep Academy.
One of coach Ryan's favorite coaches is Monty Williams (current Head Coach of the Detroit Pistons) "Everything you want is on the other side of hard. This is hard. This is freaking hard, so you got to stick together." On this new journey with Bay Area Sports Academy, we are going to face adversity, we are going to go through some grueling days to get better and get stronger. When that happens continue to fight through together and that is how we will be successful here. "Huskies are pack animals who cooperate to hunt. Creating a pack-like mentality here is the foundation to our culture of success and I look forward to watching student-athletes here embrace that mindset."
Deloach began his coaching career in 2016 as he assisted with Auburndale High School and Head Coach, Eric Robinson. Due to his passion and commitment, he was offered the head coaching job at Advance Prep Academy the fall of 2017. Taking the reigns of a new program, Deloach quickly turned Advance Prep into a well-known and tough program, competing against D1 Juco, NAIA, and other national post-grads.
Deloach earned his associate degree (2009) from Rochester Community and Technical College and bachelor's degree from Minnesota State Mankato. A native from Auburndale, FL, Deloach and Shayla along with his two children, Amari and Aubree, reside in the Lakeland Area.

Dominique Neveu
Videographer
Dominique Neveu graduated in 2024 from the University of Rochester. She began working in sports communications in 2019 and has since worked as a PA Announcer and as a general sports communication assistant for her alma mater. Neveu has two years of experience in video production and has worked as an editor, videographer, and creative director for two theater companies in Rochester, NY, before coming to work for Bay Area Academy.
